We have the beliefs we do because of a series of experiences. Through these experiences or events (sometimes it is not our own experience), we adopted a pattern that made sense to us in those moments. Not ever realizing that beliefs are a choice we make and we can choose to change them in any moment. This knowing feeling tells me that if people had no limiting beliefs, then they would experience infinite potential.
The first step is noticing if the belief we are carrying is limiting us or empowering us. Here are some questions to ask yourself, in order to determine if the belief is limiting or not:
Does your belief keep you in fear?
Does it keep you from taking the action you would like?
Does your belief stop you from gaining success or pleasure in your life?
Does your belief make you feel powerful?
Does your belief help you? Does it serve your cause?
Does your belief lead you to expressing yourself?
Does your belief lead you to happiness?
The easiest way to find out if your belief is empowering or limiting is by asking one simple question: Does your belief say, “I can’t” or “Not possible”? If your answer is yes, then it is a limiting belief.
I want you to write down 5 limited beliefs that you have. Be sure to do this on a loose sheet of paper. If you are advanced in emotional cleansing then list 10 limited beliefs.
Be sure to ask someone who you trust to listen to your words and point out all word usage that involves limited beliefs. It is also important that you listen to your word usage. Once you are aware of these limited beliefs, write it down.
