No belief is required for Reiki to work.

No matter what the practitioner or recipient believes, when the hands of a practitioner are placed where healing is needed, the energy flows. The Usui System cannot be misused-because its healing process provides only what the body needs. Because it is completely natural, Reiki does not interfere with medical treatment. Use it in conjunction with any instructions from your doctor

 

 

No Special state of consciousness is required.

Unlike other systems, one need not be mediating, praying or other wise concentrating to use Reiki, though many people find these positive attitudes contribute additionally to the healing process.

 

From the Universal Source Reiki comes flowing through, not out of the practitioner. So a practitioner, rather than being drained by the process, benefits from having such positive energy flowing through him or her.

 

How quickly Reiki works varies.

Comfort, relaxation and deep warmth in the area treated are usually the first signs experienced by the recipient. In general, more recent problems clear up more quickly, but sometimes even a longstanding complaint is removed in an hour treatment-occasionally in a few minutes.
